Pimlico Primary is a non-selective school, and all applications are considered.
We have 60 Reception class places available each year. If the school is oversubscribed, applications are considered against the criteria set out below. After the admission of students with Statements of Special Educational Needs where Pimlico Primary is named on the Statement, the criteria will be applied in this order:
- Looked after children and children who were formerly looked after;
- Specific medical needs, social needs and special needs where the application is supported by written specific professional advice as to why the admission to the school is necessary;
- Siblings of students currently attending the school who will continue to do so on the date of admission;
- Nearest walking distance to the school – children who live the nearest distance from the school.
Applications for admission to Reception class are co-ordinated by Westminster City Council, which recommends using the online pan-London application process. Applications open at the beginning of September for entry to Reception class the following September. Applications close in mid-January, and you hear the outcome in April. If your application is not successful, you can put your child’s name on the waiting list managed by Westminster City Council.
Applications for admission to other Year groups are made directly to the school. Please contact the School Office.
Tours of the school
We warmly encourage parents and carers to visit Pimlico Primary before applying for a place. We offer regular tours of the school that include all our facilities, and provide an opportunity to see our curriculum in action. Time is set aside for questions and discussion.
Our Acting Principal at Pimlico Primary leads all School Tours, which lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Please let the School Office know the date you would like to attend via our email address or by phone, as there are limited spaces available per visit.
